Are you curious? Do you dream of a research career? Gain professional experience ahead of graduate school through our Postbaccalaureate Research Program. For two years, Postbacc Researchers immerse themselves in biomedical research as they gain a better understanding of the daily life of scientists. Hired into one of our faculty labs, Postbacc Researchers develop technical, analytic, and professional skills needed to approach complex biological problems related to human disease.

JAX Genomic Education supports the professional development of Postbacc Researchers through:

Program participants earn an annual salary of $37,000+ and employee benefits to defray cost-of-living expenses and training costs. 

Life at JAX

Postbacc Researchers develop research and professional skills while directly supporting a JAX PI and their research program. While training, Postbaccs become valued members of their lab, and join a community of trainees at various stages of their careers. In addition to research, Postbacc Researchers attend trainee-specific workshops and events, and have free access to JAX courses (both online and in-person). As a research institution with over 2,500 staff, JAX has a wide range of scientific interest groups and social communities that help forge connections between colleagues.
